EyeEm Review and Overview
Photography has got quite a trend nowadays, with every Joe thinking himself as Steve McCurry. But still, we could hope to get all kinds of photos if everyone had a common platform to share them. And, it would be much better if these photos also help in earning some money for real photographers and people.
EyeEm, aka I am, is one such online platform that offers a community and marketplace for global photographers. It was started in 2011 and has subsequently achieved big numbers like 100 million stock photos, 25 million photographers, and over 150 countries participating in it. EyeEm provides its platform on mobile and web. Photographers, buyers, sellers, stock collections, and many more related things are possible in their online marketplace.
EyeEm Business Plan
EyeEm provides separate plans for business providers in three tiers viz., Social, Web, and Full. These plans are also provided for regular images and premium images. The Social license is limited to 1200px quality. It offers an organic growth plan on social media. Comparatively, Web License, and Full Plan have no resolution restrictions. They also include tools for paid social media, website, digital presentations, on-demand video, etc. Web license has a restriction of 5000 printed copies, whereas there are none in the Full version. The full version also facilitates TV Broadcasts & Films, printed ads, and retail products.
EyeEm for Photographers
EyeEm has great services for photographers, and it provides them with exclusive platforms and licenses to sell and copyright their photos. Photographers are required to add their photos online in the EyeEm cloud. These photos are then displayed to the buyers or the general public. Based on Image Recognition Technology, EyeEm tags and ranks the images. The AI auto assigns these tags based on the content scanned from the photos.
EyeEm provides the uploading services via both mobile and desktop interfaces. The only key requirements for the image is to be in JPG format, >4 MB, and without any watermark, frame, or copyright on it. The key to success on their platform is to use appropriate tags on photos with keywords, locations, and interconnections with other sellers. The current sale prices are $20, 50, and 250 for Social, Web, and Full Commercial License, respectively.
Avid Photographers can also be hired for work via the EyeEm Collective Platform. It is more likely to give better value and scope to your work if top agencies hire you. All it takes is registration on EyeEm Collective Portal. Top Photographers are also awarded yearly. Overall, even though it is relatively new, EyeEm has done a great job of uniting photographers and customers across the world.
