Upwork has included over 8000 job skills in their freelancer job portals. The top categories in the freelance jobs are Web/mobile/software dev, IT/Networking, Data Science & Analytics, and Engineering+ architecture. They even have lesser technical jobs like Creative design, writing, translation, legal, customer support, and admin services. Some of the business-related tasks like sales, marketing, accounting, and consulting are also advertised. The rates of freelancers are decided based on their ratings and work types, which is usually per hour based.
The hiring can be done for complex projects, long term contracts, or short-time jobs, decided explicitly for professionals, skilled, and newcomer users, respectively. Once the bid appears to the clients, they can see the reviews, ratings, skills, and other factors to give the job to a suitable candidate. The work can collaborate via chats or video calls, file sharing, and tracking. Once the task is done, with some percentage deduction, the payment is provided to the freelancers.
For the clients, the Basic Plan is free and allows verified work history, unlimited proposals, and in-built collaboration tools. The Plus Plan begins at $49.99 per month, with additional support for the dedicated account manager, project tracking, and tailored search results for the employers. The Business plan of Upwork starts at $849 and includes consolidated billings, dedicated advisors, detailed work reporting, trends, and insights. The Enterprise edition has configurable contracts, faster onboarding, worker compliances, managed solutions, and expert account executives.
As for Freelance workers, Upwork has different charges. The fees are based on the lifetime earnings of the workers across the types of work or contracts.
