Google+ Hangouts Review and Overview
Google+ Hangouts, or simply Google Hangouts as of now, is quite a useful and known chat and meetup software. Before this, Google has several other products with chat and communication services. As in 2015, Google announced Google Hangouts as one of their combined and primary communication software. Later in 2017, Hangouts was devised as a paid alternative for businesses, in the form of Hangouts Meet and Hangouts Chat.
Google Hangout Business plan and Features
Google Hangout offers communication channels, text messages, voice, or video calls. The app is available on the Google hangout interface on desktop and mobile OS. Google Hangout even offers sleek features that support collaboration in teams in the business plans. It is perfect as a social product in groups and uses integration from other apps like Slack, Zendesk, Sprint, etc., giving more functionality to the app.
Google Hangouts Meet
Hangouts Meet is a comprehensive video calling service in the Hangouts plan. The Hangouts Meet app is accessed via the G-suite subscription. Based on these G-Suite plans, certain features of Hangouts Meet will change. Hangouts Meet get a 100-member limit, and business users get 150, and Enterprise users get a limit of 250 people in a single call. Users can join the meetings from the application provided on desktop or mobile devices, also callable through a dial-up number. These dial-ups can be password protected in the enterprise version.
It also has integrations with Google Calendar, to facilitate scheduling and one-click meetings. This tool even has a screen sharing setup with attachment and file sharing for documents, spreadsheets, or ppts. All calls support encrypted calls. Google Hangouts Meet can also be used alongside Skype, and systems of Polycom and Cisco, with SIP and H.323. They also offer the Pexip Infinity Platform. Live Streaming is only in the Enterprise version.
Google Hangouts Chats
Comparatively, Hangout Chat offers direct messaging, chat rooms, chat history and embedded G Suite permissions. Up to 8000 chat room participants can be added. It has bots for Meet, Drive, and other apps. The chat is encrypted with SSO integrations, TFA, advanced admin controls, and vault data retention features. Overall, Google+ Hangouts works great for a simple conversation or video conferencing for businesses.
