How does a node-based compositor system improve the quality of the effects?
Unlike traditional video effects creation tools using a layer-based algorithm, Autodesk Smoke uses a node-based compositor for making effects. This plays a very important role in ensuring that the video project has more lifelike effects, but is prepared in a much shorter period. A node-based compositor actually works by laying out several effect layers at once, each effected layer being created in parallel. On a sufficiently powerful computer, the results always turn out to be very impressive, as even very intricate, multilayered, animations can be rendered on the video.
Simplicity and power in a single, effective pack
Autodesk Smoke is faster and simpler than other similar applications. This is because the layers are rendered simultaneously and the FX specialist can easily map out even complex scenes through a node-based interface. This cannot be done easily in layer-based VFX systems as each layer has to be rendered from the grounds up and the more complex scenes often require layers upon layers of renditions, making the whole thing needlessly hard. This, paired with its extremely easy to use interface, makes it perfect for amateur filmmakers, students, and professionals alike.
