RCN Review and Overview
Residential Communications Network, aka RCN, is one of the most high-speed internet providers in the USA, serving in 7 US states. As the 8th largest ISP, they claim to have over 4.1 million users with cable internet.
Even after getting bankrupt in 2004, they have slowly risen to the current position. They also have received multiple rewards from reviews sites like PC Mag as one of the fastest ISPs and got the reader’s choice award numerous times.
RCN High-Speed Internet
RCN offers a super reliable and fast internet up to 940 Mbps. This Fiber Optic network is capable of running bandwidth-heavy tasks like streaming, gaming, downloading quite smoothly.
The internet plans are varied, with max price tagged at $ 68.33/month at a 2-year price lock. The bundle offers a whopping 1 Gbps download speed and up to 20 Mbps upload speed. It gives the users a home Wi-Fi system too.
RCN Digital TV
RCN runs the Signature TV plans for digital TV. With a starting price of $60/month, it provides 298+ channels, with no contract and free installations.
At a higher price of $65/month, you get additional internet service with 940 Mbps download speed. It also comes with TiVo, to record shows up to 1000 hours, and even a Netflix package.
With RCN2GO, we can watch the desired RCN TV shows on other devices like computers, tablets, or mobile phones.
RCN Mobile Plans
Unlike other bundles, RCN does not provide its own smartphones with these plans.
The phone plans start with a non-internet plan at $ 20/month with unlimited voice calls, messages, digital voicemails, and access to calling features like call rejection, forwarding, call logs, premium caller ID, simultaneous connections, etc.
The top plan is $65, with all features of basic phone plans + 940 Mbps internet and TV. As witnessed, RCN in its region provides competitive services, even with limited resources, unlike the top carriers.
Conclusion
Overall, RCN is limited to only 7 states in the USA and still provides a hefty competition. It has awards for the most reliable and fastest connection and value packs, which reveals their unparalleled efforts.
